What is Secondary Cone Crusher and Its Application?

Definition of Secondary Cone Crusher:

Secondary cone crusher is an effective crusher with big cone angle and it is suitable in the secondary crushing process after the materials are crushed by jaw crushing plant. It can process the materials for third crushing. This type of crusher equipment has a big vertical feeding mouth whose size will not change due to the abrasion of lining boards and fixed cone lining board, so that the crushing process is very stable. This means that it is not necessary to adjust the discharging mouth of the upper level crusher.

The biggest size of the final products of secondary cone crusher is 60-120mm(2½'-5') and the typical products are railway ballast of 25-65mm(1'-2½') which are produced by the closed-circuit secondary cone crusher. The experience shows that the smallest size of the discharging mouth is about 10% of the feeding mouth. It is still correct even with the smallest eccentric distance. When eccentric distance increases, the smallest discharging mouth will also increase which is caused by the increase of drawbar power.

Application of Secondary Cone Crusher:

Secondary cone crusher is not a tertiary crusher, which means that to produce final products whose biggest size is 20-40mm(¾'-1½'), secondary cone crusher is not a suitable option. Under this condition, GP crusher with flat cone and biggest feeding mouth is the correct choice.
