Impact of Ore Feeding Quantity to Crushing Work

In the actual production work, the quantity of the ore feeding is one of the factors that have a influence on the crushing effect of the crushing equipment. On the other hand, whether the rock feeding quantity reaches the specified processing amount of the machine has a close relationship with the energy consumption of the mining equipment and also affects the granularity performance and characteristics of the final products. For this reason, domestic experts have done a lot of research and development on the feeding aspect.

First is influence to the superfine crushing. When the crushing pressure is relatively high, along with the increase of the quantity of the feeding rocks, the discharging granularity will become fine; when the feeding rocks become less, the discharging granularity will become coarse. However, if the crushing pressure becomes low, the opposite effect will emerge, that is to say, if the feeding rocks become more and more, the discharging granularity will become coarse. It is very easy to understand this regular pattern. Because when the pressure is high, the discharging gap in the crushing process has small changes with the increase of the quantity of the ores fed; if the quantity of the ores fed is large and the gap is the same, it will lead to the pressure inside the rock layers and the granularity of the discharged final products will become fine. When the pressure is low, the increase of the rock quantity fed will make the discharging space become large and the pressure sustained by the ores in the rock layer will be not sufficient, for this reason, the fineness of the finished products will become coarse. According to the above analysis, it shows that the required pressure for the crushing equipment cannot be too low, otherwise the discharging size will be difficult to control; for this reason, the mining machines are required to be operated under the medium pressure.

Second is the influence to the crushing energy consumption. By way of repeated experience and actual application, it shows that no matter how the pressure, rotation speed and discharging space change, the influence rules of the rock fed quantity to the crushing consumption of the unit rocks is basically the same, which is with the increase of the rocks, the crushing energy consumption of the unit rocks will be less. Under the high pressure, the energy consumed in the unit rocks will be relatively high and vice versa. For this reason we require that the crushing process should be operated under low pressure. However, at the same time, if the pressure is too low, the discharging size will be coarse so that the crushing pressure should be medium.
