Unit Consumption and Service Life of Lining Board of Ball Mill

Lining board is the key and vulnerable part of ball making equipment, and its unit consumption and service has a great relation with the working efficiency of grinding plant. On the basis of many years of theoretical research and practice, the experts of Hongxing Machinery have had comprehensive knowledge on the unit consumption and service life of lining board.

The variate of the consumption of metal lining board used by ball mill machine is large, and according to the statistical material of ore grinding media in metal mines and non-metallic mines in many years, Hongxing Machinery gets that as for the wet grinding of coarse and corrosive ores, the consumption of lining board for feeding every ton of materials can reach as high as 0.3kg; but as for the dry grinding of soft limestone ore cement clinker, the consumption of lining board may be only 0.5g/t, and if expressed by the lining board consumed by every KW•h of electricity, the consumption will be 23 g/kW•h and 0.05g/kW•h. The factors influencing the wear rate of lining board include granularity and hardness of materials to be ground, electricity consumed by grinding every ton of materials, diameter and rotating speed of the grinding mill, structural types of lining board, wear-resistance of the texture of lining board and percentage of remaining weight or size of lining board when it its abraded to scrap to original one. Metal lining board is generally used in the one-stage grinding of low-graded ores whose silica content and other hard and corrosive minerals content are high. Under this working condition, the consumption of cylinder lining board, end lining board and lattice lining board will be about 0.1kg/t. In the two-stage ore grinding process, many ore beneficiation plants choose rubber lining board to get better effect.

In a ball mill grinder, the service life of the cylinder lining board is determined by four factors: resistance to macro impact failure damage, resistance to macro fatigue failure damage, resistance to surface cut or cutting abrasion and resistance to surface micro impact and fatigue abrasion and various running conditions. At present, as for many low-graded ores, the service life of metal lining board in ball grinder in the one-stage working process is 200~500d, and that in two-stage working process is 2~2.5a; and the service life of rubber lining board in one-stage working process is 2~3a and that in two-stage grinding process is 4~5a.
